Step-by-Step Instructions

  • 1st roll the clay into log shapes
    • The smaller the disco ball the less clay you need
  • 2nd Place the disco ball in the middle of the clay log.
    • Make sure you have enough clay to secure the ball. (Don’t make the logs too skinny)
    • Either place the ring of the disco ball into the clay or leave it exposed to hang snails.
    • Mold the head to be in an up-right position
  • 3rd Create snail eyes by pinching the clay at the top of the head and creating what looks like antennae.
    • Attach googly eyes to antennae by gently pressing eyes into clay. (Use a dab of water to make clay sticky if necessary)
    • Create facial expressions for snail
  • 4th Accessorize snails by creating clay bows and hats. Honestly, this is the fun part!
    • Have fun, go crazy, and don’t stress
  • Finally let your awesome snail creations dry for a couple days
    • You can leave them as is or paint them with water colors or acrylic paint.
